What Freakin Review is
Freakin Review is an independent product review site for people in the United States who are tired of sponsored listicles and copy-paste specs. We buy, borrow and test products the way you actually use them at home, then we tell you what happened – including the parts the manufacturer would rather we skipped.
Who is behind it
Freakin Review is run by a small, U.S.-based team of shoppers, tinkerers and writers. We are not a content farm and we do not outsource reviews to anonymous writers who have never touched the product. Every article carries the name of the team that tested it, and our review methodology explains exactly how scores are produced.
How we test
- Hands-on use first. Products are used for real – usually for at least two weeks – before we publish a verdict.
- Fixed scoring rubric. Build quality, performance, ease of use, value and long-term ownership are scored separately, then combined. See Our Review Methodology.
- Written verdicts, not just stars. The score is a summary; the reasoning is the review.
- Corrections in public. When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change. Our editorial guidelines explain how corrections work.
