Editorial Guidelines

Editorial Guidelines - independence, sourcing and corrections

Our editorial guidelines

These are the rules every article on Freakin Review must follow. They exist so you can trust what you read here.

Independence

  • Nobody can buy a review, a score, a ranking position or a removal. We do not accept payment for coverage.
  • Advertisers and affiliate partners have no influence over editorial decisions. Money and editorial are separate, always.
  • If a brand supplies a review sample, we label it clearly inside the article.

Sourcing and accuracy

  • Claims about performance come from our own testing or clearly attributed sources.
  • Specs are checked against the manufacturer’s official documentation before publication.
  • Prices are checked at publication time and may change; always confirm on the retailer page.

Transparency

  • Every review states how the product was obtained and how long it was tested.
  • Affiliate links are disclosed at the top or bottom of every article that contains them.
  • We never publish AI-generated “reviews” of products nobody on the team has used.

Corrections policy

Mistakes happen. When they do:

  1. We fix the error as soon as it is confirmed.
  2. We add a dated note at the bottom of the article describing what changed.
  3. We never quietly rewrite a published verdict.

Conflicts of interest

Team members must disclose any financial relationship with a company before writing about it. If a conflict cannot be managed, someone else writes the review or we do not cover the product.
