Freakin Review (“we”, “us” or “our”) operates www.freakinreview.com (the “Site”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It is written to meet the requirements of U.S. federal law and the state privacy laws that apply to us, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Virginia VCDPA, the Colorado CPA, the Connecticut CTDPA, the Utah UCPA, the Texas TDPSA, the Oregon CPA and the Montana MCDPA.
If anything here is unclear, email us at [email protected] and we will explain it in plain language.
Quick summary

- You can ask us to see, correct, delete or stop using your information — see Your privacy rights.
- We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by your browser.
- We keep comment data until you ask us to remove it, and analytics data for 14 months.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Comments and reviews: the name, email address and content you submit. Your email is never displayed publicly.
- Contact form messages: your name, email address, the topic you pick and the message itself.
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, if you subscribe.
- Correction requests: the details you send us when you report an error in a review.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, date and time of the request.
- Analytics: pages viewed, time on page, approximate location at city level, and how you arrived at the Site.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see the cookie table below.
- Affiliate link clicks: when you click a retailer link, the retailer may tell us a purchase happened so commission can be attributed. Retailers do not share your payment details with us.
Information from third parties
We may receive aggregate analytics data and affiliate performance reports from our analytics provider and affiliate networks. We do not buy personal information from data brokers.
Sensitive information
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under the CPRA (government IDs, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health data, biometric data, or sexual orientation). We ask that visitors do not submit this kind of information in comments or messages.
Cookies and tracking technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We group ours into three categories. You can change your choices at any time through the Cookie Preferences link in the footer.
| Category | What it does | Examples | Can I turn it off? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps you logged in, remembers comment fields, protects forms against spam and stores your cookie choice | wordpress_logged_in_*, comment_author_*, fr_consent | No — the site cannot work without them |
| Analytics | Tells us which reviews people read so we can improve the site | _ga, _gid | Yes |
| Affiliate attribution | Lets a retailer credit us for a purchase so we earn a commission | Set by retailers when you click an outbound link | Yes |
You can also block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser.
Why we use your information

- To understand which reviews are useful and improve our content.

- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
- To send you newsletters you asked for, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you.
